An ultrawide prime lens for Sony E-mount full-frame mirrorless cameras, the FE 16mm f/1.8 G Lens from Sony establishes itself as a premium choice for vlogging as well as landscape, architecture, and street photography. Dual XD linear motors and internal AF allow speedy and efficient autofocusing performance that's expected with a G-series lens. Not only does this lens support AF at 120 fps, but its low focus breathing and compact design are a great benefit for video capturing. The front lens element doesn't protrude like most wide-angle optics, which allows users to equip 67mm screw-in filters. For increased dependability against the elements, a dust- and moisture-resistant design is provided as well as a fluorine coating to the front lens element, making it easier to clean and resistant to water and oil contaminants.
Speedy, Reliable AF Performance
Dual XD (extreme dynamic) linear motors help the FE 16mm f/1.8 G achieve higher thrust for rapid and accurate focusing.
Internal AF allows the lens to maintain its short overall length and helps it operate more efficiently.
A bright f/1.8 aperture strengthens this prime lens's ability to create quality imagery in dimmer lighting conditions.
Conveniently Built for Everyday Shooting
Complementing the lens's ultrawide field of view is a form factor that's designed for easily taking on the go.
A focus hold button, an AF/MF switch, and a physical aperture ring give you greater settings control right at your fingertips, so you can quickly make adjustments while capturing and not miss your shot.
Weighing just 10.7 oz, you can capture with this lens for extended shooting times without getting fatigued.
The front lens element accepts 67mm screw-in filters, further widening its versatility by allowing the usage of UV, ND, or any other useful filters in your arsenal.
Advanced Optical Design
To minimize field curvature and astigmatism, two Advanced Aspherical lenses are featured. Also bolstering overall image quality are three extra-low dispersion elements and one Super ED element, which work together to produce images with impressive resolution, improved clarity, and minimized optical aberrations.
