The KUMO 64 x 64 Compact 12G-SDI Router from AJA features 64 12G-SDI inputs and 64 12G-SDI outputs and it is network-ready and supports HTTP control and monitoring via a web browser. It can be integrated with existing infrastructure utilizing the industry-standard Grass Valley Native Protocol over RS-422 or Gigabit Ethernet. This compact 4 RU format router is designed for broadcast, production, or postproduction environments, including mobile sports trucks, edit suites, corporate video installations, or live theatrical A/V rigs.
Powerful Signal Management
The cross-point routing matrix maps any input to any number of outputs without the need for additional patch panels or distribution amplifiers. The KUMO 12G-SDI routers offer single-link cable connectivity for UHD 4K and, with a simple setting change, can be configured for ganged dual link or quad link routing, allowing users to group together multiple inputs and outputs for 8K workflows. This allows routing of raw or 8K or UHD 4K signals for virtual production, live events, OB trucks, or post facilities.
Compact Design
The KUMO family of compact SDI routers provides powerful signal control and support full broadcast specifications over 12G-SDI, 6G-SDI, 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, and SD-SDI with quality that exceeds SMPTE specifications. The super-compact 4 RU format is only a few inches deep, making it a perfect fit for any broadcast, production, or postproduction environment, from mobile sports trucks and edit suites, virtual production, corporate video installations, or live theatrical A/V rigs.
No fans are used in the KUMO routers, enabling installation in environments that require silent operation such as on-set, audio booths, and operating rooms.
Salvo Support & Presets
Salvos simplify switching operations by recalling multiple sources to specific destinations, allowing an operator to quickly route a predefined set of crosspoints. Up to eight salvos can be configured and stored in this router and can be recalled via the Web UI, GVG Native Protocol over Ethernet, RS-422, and the KUMO CP2 Salvo buttons.
This KUMO Presets feature saves current settings to 1 of 20 available Preset slots. Settings on the Configuration page are stored in the preset and any preset may be recalled at any time, returning the KUMO to the previously stored state.
Broadcast-Standard Reliability
Designed for critical broadcast, virtual, on-set production, and post environments, the router uses premium components coupled with AJA's RP-168 compliant switching capability across multiple crosspoints at once, ensuring switching between sources provides consistent SDI output, with no visual impacts.
Simple Installation and Configuration
With an embedded Linux operating system, this router is network-ready and supports HTTP control and monitoring via a web browser, without the need for any additional software. The auto-detect Bonjour/Zeroconf protocols mean that network configuration is automatic.
By connecting it to a network or computer the system will self-configure, and be ready for use. Alternatively, standard network configuration allows access to the router via its default IP address.
KUMO Control Panels
The KUMO CP2 and KUMO CP are optional control panels that can be used in standalone or network configurations. They enable full control from any location without the need for a computer by connecting via Ethernet to the same network as the KUMO routers.
Up to four KUMO routers can be controlled from a single control panel, and a single router can be controlled by up to 32 control panels. The KUMO CP2 offers direct access to all 64 inputs and 64 outputs.
