Product Description

The AJA openGear HDMI to 3G-SDI Scan Converter is designed to provide high-quality conversion of computer and HDMI output signals to 3G-SDI baseband video, allowing you to efficiently incorporate these signals in video workflows. It also allows region of interest (ROI) image scaling, aspect ratio and frame rate conversion, and up, down, and cross conversion. The internal card is compatible with DFR-8321, OG3, and OGX openGear frames. It features an HDMI input and loop output, and a 3G-SDI output. It supports up to 1920 x 1200 and 1080p60 on input, and 1080p60 on output.

Region of Interest (ROI)

Eliminate extra interface clutter and menu bars and extract only the portion of the computer screen you want. The openGear HDMI to 3G-SDI Scan Converter is fully compatible with the free Ross DashBoard application, offering interactive selection of an ROI from the incoming computer signal. You have full control over how that region is scaled to the output resolution using AJA's high-quality scaling algorithms for the cleanest picture quality possible. Take full control of aspect ratio, image rotation, and frame rate conversion with on-screen controls in the DashBoard software that shows you what your source and output will look like, including the formats that are coming in and the choices you have made for the signal going out.

It is also possible to expand output options and create a large, synchronized video wall display.

You're able to easily create highly effective and engaging displays by using additional converters. By utilizing three OG-ROI-HDMI openGear converters in the appropriate rack frame, you can feed three display monitors side by side, each rotated to portrait mode. By using the HDMI pass-through of the OG-ROI-HDMI, the HDMI routed image is in sync, with each converter providing the necessary region of interest output via SDI. Settings for each of the converters are provided via Ethernet control via your openGear frame through an Ethernet switch. The result is a visually exciting and creative way to feed display content.

Audio

The openGear HDMI to 3G-SDI Scan Converter accepts 2-channel analog audio via two 3-pin terminal block connectors or embedded 8-channel audio from an HDMI input. The audio source and routing can be selected in the DashBoard software and is embedded into the SDI output. This allows computer audio to be embedded within the SDI signal for easy, synchronized routing.

openGear Compatibility

The openGear standard ensures that AJA cards will be compatible with other openGear products from certified openGear partners.
