Product Description
Create an audio bridge between your video signal with embedded audio and a Dante audio network with the DANTE-12GAM 12G-SDI/Dante 64-Channel Embedder/Disembedder from AJA. This high-performance audio over IP converter provides 12G-SDI connectivity with 64 channels of embedded audio and the capability to de-embed up to {name} channels of audio onto an existing Dante network. This model comes with a BNC 12G-SDI coaxial transceiver SFP.
Each 12G-SDI input supports up to 16 audio channels, which totals 64 channels of simultaneous audio input and output. It features two locking EtherCON ports, so your link to the Dante network is never interrupted. It also features two internal signal generators, so an external one is not required. The unit supports video resolutions up to DCI 4K, and its de-embedded audio streams are compatible with a wide range of Dante-compatible software such as Dante Controller and Dante Via.
Dante & AES67
In addition to Dante IP audio, the DANTE-12GAM also supports AES67, an open standard for IP audio developed by the Audio Engineering Society (AES). Dante and AES67 work together by leveraging AES67's interoperability to allow Dante devices to communicate with other AES67-compliant systems, enhancing the flexibility and integration capabilities of audio networks and greatly expanding the Dante audio ecosystem. You can integrate Dante systems with other IP audio systems that use AES67, such as RAVENNA, Livewire, and Q-LAN. To enable AES67 on Dante devices, you must activate AES67 in the Dante Controller software, allowing the Dante network to transmit and receive AES67 streams.
Dante & SMPTE ST 2110-30
SMPTE ST 2110-30 is the SMPTE standard for transporting uncompressed audio over IP networks. The DANTE-12GAM supports SMPTE ST 2110-30 IP audio, a component of the broader SMPTE ST 2110 IP AV suite. The SMPTE ST 2110 standard includes video, audio, ancillary data, and more, transporting the highest quality video and audio IP data streams over robust IP networks, typically in broadcast environments. It interoperates with other ST 2110-30 compliant devices via the Dante Controller software. The Dante audio network and this unit both support Precision Time Protocol version 2 (PTPv2), ensuring synchronization across Dante and SMPTE ST 2110 networks.
Advanced Enclosure
The DANTE-12GAM utilizes a rugged aluminum enclosure, offering a front panel display, physical push-button controls, USB-C connectivity for initial Static IP configuration, and active cooling designed with front-to-back airflow. The onboard display reports status and configuration and is paired with buttons for enter, back, up, and down for easy access to settings for standalone operation.
AJA Web UI
The DANTE-12GAM can also be monitored and controlled by a user-friendly web UI served by its integrated web server. The web UI shows the system status and connections to the Dante audio network. It can be used to configure network settings and update firmware. Applicable controls and status information are mirrored on the LCD front display on the device.
Meeting Networking Standards for Pro A/V Industry
Dante allows uncompressed, multichannel, low-latency, high-resolution digital audio to be distributed across a switched Ethernet network using standard TCP/IP protocols while meeting the stringent quality and timing requirements of professional audio. For your peace of mind, Dante audio supports a redundant network topology with dual networks via a primary and secondary GigE port on most Dante devices.
